Community Appreciation Day & Winneshiek County Farm Crawl hosted on August 20th
/Looking for a fun and FREE activity to make the most of your final weekends of summer?
Visit Seed Savers Exchange on Saturday, August 20th for farm tours, hayrides, and a barn dance!
Scheduled farm tours will run three times throughout the day, taking visitors on a staff-lead, behind the scenes look at the work of Seed Savers Exchange. Tractor pulled hayrides through the valley of our 890 acre headquarters, Heritage Farm will take place in the late afternoon. The celebration will finish up with a good old fashioned barn dance. Join us!
Schedule Highlights
Farm Tours - hourly, 11 am - 5 pm
Vegetable Taste Testing and Live Music - 5 pm - 7 pm
Hayrides - 5 pm and 6 pm
Barn Dance - 7 pm
Lillian Goldman Visitor Center Hours - 10 am - 5 pm
Food and Beverage
Free food samples will be provided throughout the day and beverages, including alcohol, will be for sale at the barn dance. Snacks and beverages are also available for purchase at the Lillian Goldman Visitor Center (note hours above).

Community Appreciation Day is one of four farm stops on the Winneshiek County Convention & Visitors Bureau Farm Crawl. The family-friendly event includes tours of local farms and food projects, with plenty of food samples and tastings along the way featuring Winneshiek Wildberry Winery, Sherlock Shrimp, and Iowa’s Dairy Center.
