Plan now to join acclaimed musician Mason Jennings July 8 for an evening benefit concert at Heritage Farm, Seed Savers Exchange's headquarters in Decorah, Iowa. It’s the perfect chance to revel in the beauty of a Midwest summer, while enjoying breathtaking outdoors scenery, superb music, and great company. All proceeds from the concert will support Seed Savers Exchange's mission to conserve and promote America's culturally diverse but endangered garden and food crop heritage for future generations by collecting, growing, and sharing heirloom seeds and plants.

BORN IN HAWAII, MUSICIAN MASON JENNINGS NOW CALLS MINNESOTA HOME. HE WILL PERFORM A BENEFIT CONCERT AT SEED SAVERS EXCHANGE JULY 8.

Jennings—an American singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist—released his 13th album, Wild Dark Metal, last year. He has toured the world for close to 20 years, played on talk shows, and garnered positive press in magazines and newspapers and on blogs. Jennings received a four-star review in Rolling Stone for his 2009 album, Blood Of Man, recorded on Garage Band (playing all the instruments himself). The Hawaii native now calls Minnesota home.

Jennings will be joined by The Pines, a folk-rock group from Minneapolis, and talented songstress Pieta Brown, daughter of longtime Seed Savers Exchange supporter Greg Brown.

Of course, there will be plenty of other things going on in and around Decorah that day. Come early and explore this vibrant small town—biking, hiking, and fishing opportunities abound, with plenty of trails and waterways to explore. Plus you’ll find shopping, museums, galleries, and places to eat around the area.

CONCERT DETAILS:

What: Performances by Mason Jennings, The Pines, and Pieta Brown to benefit the nonprofit mission of Seed Savers Exchange

When: July 8, 2017—gates open at 5 p.m., garden tour with Diane Ott Whealy, Seed Savers Exchange's co-founder, is at 6 p.m.; and concert begins at 7 p.m.

Where: Seed Savers Exchange's Heritage Farm, 3074 North Winn Road, Decorah, Iowa, 52101 (In the event of severe weather, the concert will be held at the Regents Center at nearby Luther College.)

Cost: $25 in advance, $30 at gate

Food and Beverages: Food vendors and cash bar will be available.

Parking: General parking will be available at the upper campus of Seed Savers Exchange at 3094 North Winn Road (second driveway on the right, north of Visitors Center entrance). Parking at the Visitors Center will be limited to campers and attendees with limited mobility.

Note: Please remember, smoking and bringing outside alcohol onto the Seed Savers Exchange campus is not permitted.
